First, the current status of things is that is a contract in place between the ACC and Notre Dame.

That contract governs the relationship between ND and the ACC. ND is living up to that contract and likes the status quo.

What is wrong with that? That is the deal both parties willingly made. Now, people want to undo, change or breach it for some reason.

That is a fact. Everything else in these threads are pretty much non-factual scenarios, speculation, bias, wishes and hopes.

Here are some of mine:

--The Big Ten wants ND to join its conference but not the ACC. It would rather have ND as an independent than as an ACC member.

--The networks want ND around for ratings

--The bowls want ND around for attendance and ratings

--Fans and coaches grumble about ND, but they do not count

--There is never going to be such a vote to throw ND off the P5 island.


ND is getting its way, sure, but so is the ACC. It is getting what it bargained for and agreed to.
